Book Review of Awaken the Giant Within
The influence of Tony Robbins cannot be ignored. I too thought he must be a bit wonky before I educated myself and finally read this book. I read it in 1996 and have been a fan of his ever since.
I had preconceived notions going into the book, and you probably do, too. No doubt you've seen Tony's infomercials late at night. I wasn't sure what he could bring to the table, since I was already a big fan of other self-help greats, like Stephen Covey.
But let me tell you: you will never find another book like this one...and you could never learn the subjects he covers even if you spent 50 years reading other worthy books. That might be a stretch, but it might not be.
Some people say that the content isn't always as useful as the context. In a way that's true with this book; you'll be exposed to so many eye-opening concepts, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised and mentally stretched.
Tony spends a lot of time dealing with physiology and how it affects your moods, emotions, and actions. He also makes the same connection by having you examine the words you use.
Of course, he's big on goals. Awaken The Giant Within is probably one of the best books out there at getting you to work on your goals.
People learn better with stories, so I found the book entertaining for the stories Tony tells. His own achievements in life are nothing short of spectacular, and that was over 10 years ago. From flying around in a jet helicopter, to building a castle to live in, to organizing multiple companies...the list goes on.
It's a big book, and I can't
do it the justice it deserves since I don't have it in hand
right now...so just take my word for it...as I'm giving it a positive word-of-mouth referral.
From friend to friend....you should read it.
