I admire many kinds of bravery.  We must all be brave if we’re to realize our goals in life.  Hopefully these bravery quotes will help.

      • I think I just got so tired of trying to keep up the site AND was (and AM still) bothered at how much traffic I've lost this year. I push & push, but Google hates me! In a way, it may have also been an experiment. Last couple times I got depressed with my site and stopped working on it, I suddenly leaped forward in rankings & traffic! By doing nothing! This time that strategy didn't work. :(

  • Hi Shawn, I really do not know what being brave really is...

    Some people may say I was brave in the decision I made, while some may say I was crazy. I always believed we are here to make a difference. When I decided not to have chemotherapy or radiation after surgery for my cancer, my oncologist thought I was crazy. There was a possibility that I could survive three years with Chemotherapy, no chance otherwise. I asked my surgeon could I read my detailed pathology report regarding the type of cancer I had. He gave me a copy of the report; I had five weeks to decide what I was going to do.

    Going into surgery I had no idea how bad things were, there was a mass encasing my reproductive organs which they had no idea what it was. There was a great possibility that the cancer had spread and that surgery was not the answer only treatment. My specialist knew I was against Chemotherapy. He ordered a bone scan to see if the cancer had spread to the bones. The result came back all clear.

    Decision time, I told my specialist to go ahead with the surgery as planned on the 8th December 2004. All we knew was that I have uterus cancer. I told him not to take my lymph glands out; I knew he had to test them to see if the cancer had spread. Being a diabetic my life would not be worth living if they were removed. It would create problems regarding the circulation in my legs. After he opened me if the cancer looked like it had spread then I told him to just close me up, not much more he could do. He did test the lymph grands they were clear.

    A discovery during surgery was made; I also had ovarian cancer in both ovaries. I had to have a total hysterectomy. I recovered very well and then decided to make my body healthy using herbs, vitamins, natural immune booster. I just celebrated my 6th year cancer free on the 8th of December 2010.

    Why did I survive when so many die, I don’t have any scientific answers. I only know that all the prayers and support of my family and friends played a part; the gifted hands of my surgeon and divine intervention in helping me to make the right choices and staying positive. The spirit of my father mother and brother who were with me every day. I know I am blessed and I am eternally grateful for having the chance to see and hold my first grandchild, a granddaughter, to be born in January 2011

      And thanks for always giving me your vote of confidence. I needed it today. I'm under the weather with so many things lately, this site being one of them. Though the goal of this site is that people may be inspired when they visit here, sometimes I hit some road blocks and I'm the one needing to be inspired.

      I almost shut everything down back in the Spring with a double-whammy of big problems with the site...but after I trodded through it, things amazingly jumped forward in a way I didn't expect (and of course, you know who I give all the credit to: the Big Guy). Eventually, I'd like to work full-time on this site (and a few others on the side). Imagine what I could accomplish if I could make this site my full-time gig?

      But my traffic is way down this past 30 days and I'm quite depressed and bothered and perturbed. I thought my reach was expanding, not contracting. What's worse is I see other sites doing what I'm doing, *in less time*, and they enjoy 10x and in some cases, 100x the traffic I'm experiencing.

      Let's just hope it's a temporary set-back, and like my other 2 big disappointment earlier this year, let's hope I'm about to see another big jump forward. Sorry to turn your kind words into something all about me and my issues. But as you say, "We all need help at times, the strength and courage to be brave.         I am so sorry to read about the sadness you have felt. My time has been non existent since my granddaughter has been born in January and my surgery in February. So many unexpected events happened you would not believe. I had to look after my beautiful granddaughter right until my surgery was due. Her mum ended up in hospital with a haemorrhage one week after her birth. My daughter in laws mother who came to stay for a year to help Di ended in hospital with a twisted bowel. Everyone has recovered thank God, but Di's mother had to return to her home land, she has extended family there to care for her.

        I am still recovering from my surgery.

        I will keep you in my prayers, we all go through these times when things are not the best. Just remember nothing ever stays the same, things will come good again, for all I know they may already have, keep the faith.
