  2. Hi Shawn, being a parent is never easy, so much has changed over the years. I found your quotes most interesting.

I have some thoughts I would like to share with you:~

    Being a parent:
Love is the most important ingredient; you also need patience, understanding and compassion. The child needs to trust you, they need to know you are there to protect them and help them grow into a healthy and happy individual. It is important to be able to explain all things in a way the child or adolescent can understand, remembering they do not have the same knowledge or experience as you the parent has had so they cannot relate to what you the parent is saying, Showing them examples they can relate to helps them to understand. Let them know that whatever choices they make in their lives they all have consequences, they need to always choose wisely. Teach them that decision need to be thought out, not to jump in and then have regrets. If insure they should talk to someone they respect. Children need to listen with an open mind that is what learning is all about.

Most of the time a little discipline is all you need to make sure that kids stay on the right road in life. Children need support in order to survive in the “real world”. Parents are the only ones that can give them support in the begging of their lives. Children will need emotional support to face some of the problems earlier in their life, because of sheer lack of experience. Not knowing how to solve some of the life’s problems would only help them get hurt. That’s when the parents play the key role in their life.

    Wishing you a wonderful week!
