• Hello Shawn, sorry I have not replied to your comments lately but I have had a tough couple weeks. I hope to catch up soon.

  The reason people knock other people because it makes them feel superior; when in fact any wise person can see right through them. Any person who laughs at someone being put down is just as bad as the person doing it. You will gain greater respect if you treat people with kindness and consideration. If you are as great as you think you are you don't have to shout it by knocking other people. People who are great in fact are well known and respected, they are the humble ones, the quiet achievers.

• But then is there no social responsibility to tell the truth when something needs to be said? I remember when I was young, people KNEW that Adolph Hitler was a terror, but most failed to say anything. THEN, when it was too late, the world suffered the consequences. his is always a troubling problem for me.

  As someone who tries to reflect the principles, tenderness, gentleness, mercy, humility and honesty of Jesus of Nazareth, I feel obligated to point out evil when it rears its ugly head. Particularly when it affects the whole country and the world... like politics, government, ethics and so forth. Life is truly challenging. I try to do the right thing but there are always conflicting views. I continue to weigh what is the right thing for me to do....

  • VERY GREAT POINTS, Pat. I think it just means to not complain about people's little shortcomings, grumbling about things you can't control, like traffic lights, and just not being an unpleasant person. :)
