Sometimes When Things Turn Upside Down

Sometimes when things turn upside down
And inside out and look dark brown,
I rush outdoors and gaze into
The topless sky’s eternal blue,
So calm and cool, so still and deep,
With soft contented clouds like sheep.
I shade my eyes and stare and stare,
Then go back in the house, and there,
Begin to wonder and to doubt
What I was in a stew about!

  • Shawn, this is very true, a lovely poem to read....Sometimes we get so worked up over something, placing more importance then is required and then if we take a breath and relax a little, we wonder why we have worked ourselves into such a state. Nature has a way of bringing us back to reality. I always go for a walk along the shoreline to think things through, there I find a peacefulness, before long nothing seems so difficult anymore. Enjoy your weekend!

      • Although my favourite place is the sea and Sydney is beautiful I also find peace in music. I sit back relax and listen to what ever helps to take me to wherever I want to go, imagination is a wonderful thing. There are songs on UTube that take your breath away with scenery, fantastic music and words that touch your heart and soul. Here is a link to a beautiful song you may enjoy:

  • Dear Shawn, This beautiful poem lifts us out of the closed confinement we are, when things go wrong. We do not observe the shield the Creator has put above us in the form of an azure and magnificent sky revealing the mysteries and warding us off from the sorrows of this world. So look up when sorrow engulfs you.
