Hi All,
We all have plans and ideas as to how our lives should go, but circumstances don’t always work out how we plan.
With that in mind, here’s a nice poem that deals with Plans vs Reality and what we can learn from how things turn out. Enjoy:
These Things I Have
I wanted health and strength to do great things,
Infirmity taught patience for each day.
My strength, as fleeting as a moth’s white wing,
Left me dependent, that I might obey.
I wanted wealth for happiness and ease,
But poverty prevailed and made me wise.
I wanted power to conquer and to please,
But weakness made me see through others’ eyes.
I wanted leisure time to dream and plan,
But duty brought self-discipline, and while
I sought approval of my fellowman,
I found it not, but in my Savior’s smile.
And now that I have been so richly blest,
This is my daily prayer, “Give what is best”.
