Forgiveness is a priceless gift that benefits both the giver and receiver with its grace by restoring inner peace and granting outer harmony with your family and friends. Forgiveness allows you to let go of past resentments, anger, and pain that inhibit your natural compassion and love. You only have two hands, and if you are holding on to the past, you cannot embrace the present with open arms.
We all make mistakes and at times hurt others. There are some evil people who do unforgivable things. As hard as it might be letting go of the hurt and pain you do need to set yourself free, the longer you hold on to that pain you actually give the power to the person who hurt you because you cannot move on from the hurt and so you cannot allow happiness to evolve in your life. Forgiveness in a way sets us free to go forward. Only through forgiveness can we embrace the things waiting for us to explore
Forgiveness brings peace. And with that peace comes overwhelming joy. The joy of knowing that God will forgive me just as I have forgiven.
Yes, it feels great to forgive. I know so many people who turn anger & hurt into a game: who can go the longest without forgiving. Me, I can’t stand having that kind of pain hanging over my head. Why be angry for years? Why not feel better quick? Be the bigger person: go say sorry and forgive the person first; I’m sure it’ll bug them that you were the bigger man/woman! There are bigger things to worry about in life than some old offense. Move on and start progressing.
Thanks for your words; very insightful.
