Procrastination is an Enemy

A thief is usually regarded as an enemy by both the victims and potential victims. The thief deprives the victim of his or her rights and possessions. He robs. He causes harm and destruction to property. They say procrastination is the thief of time.

Your continued tendency to postpone tasks, duties, and activities will always be your undoing in regard to managing yourself and your time. Important deadlines will be missed out. Less important and trivial issues will consume large chunks of your time at the expense of pertinent ones.

How do you stop procrastinating? First, it is imperative to remember that time will never wait for anyone. It will always be spent without anyone’s notice and awareness. It is therefore incumbent upon you to plan your time wisely and then stick to the plan.

It is vital to learn the urgency of the moment. The most crucial time you have to perform the task or duty at hand is now. It cannot be later. It cannot be tomorrow. Now is the time to function efficiently and effectively.

Do not bite off more than you can chew. Worse still, do not chew more than you can swallow. It is important to take up responsibilities that are worth performing at that particular time. Learn to delegate tasks that can be done by other persons. Two hands are better than one.

Remember to break the rock into pebbles. It would be easier to move the pebbles than the rock. Big tasks should be broken down into sub-tasks to ease their execution. It will save your time and increase your work motivation and productivity. Do not procrastinate. It is not an option for you.

This really got to me. Time passes and we have to go with it! Or we miss out. We must allot our time to be able to do as much as possible with the time we have. Very meaningful Shawn.
