Hi Shawn,
Thanx very much for you thoughts.
its a tonic to start my day.
I like the no. 7.
Take care and have a great day…… 🙂
Hello Shawn,
We all make mistakes in life and everyday things, so very true, it is how we learn from those mistakes. We can all strive for perfection but it is never easy to do. We all have our strengths in varies endeavours and in others we have to work so much harder to achieve the things we want to. When we look back on our journey we are please with the strides we accomplished and the lessons that were taught to us.
I enjoyed all the quotes particularly these:
6. Our lives improve only when we take chances and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves. -Walter Anderson
7. Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. You have to fail in order to practice being brave. -Mary Tyler Moore
9. Living might mean taking chances but they’re worth taking, Loving might be a mistake but it’s worth making. -Leanne Womack
10. The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them. -Unknown
11. Don’t worry about failure. Worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try. -Unknown
Enjoy your day.
Your quotes are inspiring and thought provoking, which enables you to take action.
Thanks – Nicholas
I love theses quotes, not much of a risk taker but have been trying to change that so this is very encouraging.
What a great way to start the day! This one jumps out at me: 13. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. -Mark Twain
One of those weeks?????
” Do not let what you cannot do…. interfere with what you can do” :o)
Make it a great day, Heidi
So true. Love these quotes!
Shawn, I haven’t been able to respond to many of your posts but this one contains so many gems that I just have to say thanks. Risk taking seems to be my life these days. If you are going to start taking a few chances you better put on warm underwear – although being out in the cold really isn’t as bad as one might think. There sure are some amazing sights once you get out into the upper stratosphere. Bring along a good friend or two if you can. Make sure they have a good head on their shoulders and understand the risk you are taking. No use bring someone who doesn’t get it. It can be a bit lonely out in no-mans-land and you may need some good council from wise friends who support your effort.
David! It’s good to hear from you again. I’ve actually been thinking of emailing you lately…just to see where you had gone. I’m glad you’re still around.
No, I didn’t know you were a president of a college; which one? No, I don’t mind you using quotes from my site; but could you find a small corner somewhere on your college’s site to link to http://www.happypublishing.com/quotations.htm using the words “Thought for the Day”?
Don’t worry if you can’t, but if you can do it, I’ll send you a few copies of my book. Let me know. 🙂
Shawn
Oh, by the way, if you keep putting out quotes like these my mirror is going to get a little crowded. Thanks again.
Oh, yes one more thing. I don’t think I have ever really mentioned that I am the president of a college to you. But if you don’t mind. I would like to take some of these quotes that you have passed along to us and post them on our community screen under “Notes from the President”. Especially now, as the new Freshman class is coming onto campus, some of these quotes may inspire them.
Thanks.
14. You’ve got to go out on a limb sometimes, because that’s where the fruit is. -Will Rogers
This has always been one of my favorite personal quotes. “Life without risk is like trying to explore the countryside from the interstate. The trip is boring, monotonous and you never get to see the good stuff.” – Lisa Piechocki
WOW, Lisa!! Thanks for that one about the countryside! My sentiments exactly.
I enjoyed every single one of these, So uplifting.!
Wow! I’m very happy to be here!
Happy to have you here!
