The Paradoxical Commandments
“People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish or ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you’re successful, you’ll win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the
Smallest people with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs, but only follow topdogs.
Fight for some underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
Give the world the best you’ve got and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.”
-Dr. Kent M. Keith, 1968
(note: this poem is often attributed to Mother Theresa or sometimes William Faulkner and it often goes by the title “Do It Anyway”. See http://www.paradoxicalcommandments.com for more info.)
No matter what life throws your way, YOU have control over how you handle any given situation; how you act and react. So, DO IT ANYWAY- whatever IT may be!
I like dis Paradoxical Quotes or commandments. Its tooooo serious and encouraging. Its all true. To add to them or it, I would also say “Despite any negativity, Positivity must continue.”
