Hi Shaun,
Another great collection as always and my favorite topic too… Integrity. Among many of it’s meanings, some implied and some derived, a couple ones that stand out for me are ‘purity’ and ‘morality’. Purity of soul and Morality of character, a combination sadly hard to find in todays world. As I write this, I find myself struggling to live up to it everyday as there is a giant puddle of Malice in some form all around us and we can’t help but either step in it or be splashed on. The only way out for all us is to clean it up and live up to Integirty of humanity! I could write much more on the topic..but it would all sum up in one line … ‘Integrity of soul and strength of character is a Gateway to the Power running this Universe!’
Thank you Shaun for such inspiring quotes which help us do some soul searching atleast for a while. Keep up the great work!
Cheers,
Aartee.
“Integrity Recognizes Itself”
was the title of a page I wrote that ended paraphrasing Ben Franklin, “I so admire the truly humble that if I were one I’d be so proud.”
It amazes me that with the great importance of integrity to success, there has been a lot of “accomplishment” in business, especially in the early industrial age, without it! Boy, are we paying for it now.
Great thoughts to keep Shawn, I really liked: 21. Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not. -Oprah Winfrey
Good collection. My favorite is “Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value.” Being of value implies inherent success but success does not imply value.
my most meaningful “integrity” quote comes from Sue Monk Kidd’s – secret life of bees. “some things don’t matter much. Like the color of a house. How big is that in the overall scheme of life? But lifting a person’s heart now that matters. THE WHOLE PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE IS THEY KNOW WHAT MATTERS, BUT THEY DON’T CHOOSE IT. THE HARDEST THING ON EARTH IS CHOOSING WHAT MATTERS.” For me that pretty much sums up integrity – thankyou Sue Monk Kidd.
You’re welcome, Carolyn. Thanks for your comment.
