What do you need to begin today?

My husband died a year ago and life has taken on a whole new meaning. Without youth, time seems to be ticking away at an unbelievable pace. As I look back over my life, it is easy to see what I have accomplished and what it took to have the life that I made. As I grieve my loss I find it hard to ‘begin’ anything. Dr. King reminds me that you don’t have to see the whole staircase…just the first step. I know in my heart that I just have to start stepping and life will follow. One of the comforts of age is feeling the success of life and taking a sigh of relief and know that you have done it! To wake and to have that all dissapear and the endless possibilities show up it is a little daunting. Thanks for reminding me to try taking the first step…….who knows what will follow?
Thanks, Sherri. Your words are powerful and make me stop and think. I’m glad King’s words have helped you. Keep them close so they remind you every day to take some steps in faith. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Shawn, life is full of stepping stones, starting over may not be easy but it is said that life is a journey and lessons are learned along the way. It does take courage when faced with hardship or a life threatening disease, losing people we love, being alone. If we stop living then we will never know what wonderful inspirational things await. We have to have faith that the universe knows what is best for us and let it be our guide. Open our hears to what revolves around us, simple things, like a stroll in the park, or a walk along the beach, getting in touch with friends or joining a voluntary group helping others. Remember a kind heart and a loving soul never should be wasted. Wishing you a wonderful week end. I always enjoy reading your quotes, thank you!
Sherri, I honestly do not know how anyone finds a way to cope with the lose of a true sole mate. You yourself are an inspiration. I thank God every day for my wife Alice and for the joy that we share together as we continue to work out the details day by day of our future. So much of those details these days have as much to to with the legacy that we want to leave behind for our Grand Kids and for those around us who we deeply care for. Even so, I agree, we don’t need to know what is at the top, it is enough just to stay focused on the step at hand.
