    Hi Shawn,

I enjoyed these quotes, this is my favourite topic.

I read a quote about endurance in one of the Jeffrey Archer books which says,

‘Prizes are not awarded for strength but for endurance ..’

    Best Regards,
    Sandeep

    Eknath,
I only send the email thoughts twice per week.

Lately I’ve been posting on the blog more than once per week and so you can sign up for that above. See the subscribe box at the top right?

Lastly, I used to send a Twitter thought several times per day, but I’ve slowed down. Feel free to follow me there too:
    http://twitter.com/motivational

Isn’t this enough? Who else here would like me to send daily thoughts? Should it be via email or blog?

Not to boast, but because it is true:

I just published CD’s of music that I waited almost 30 years to publish at http://www.cdbaby.com/all/was57

The tapes sat protected in my closet while I saved my money, and waited, and waited.

With no support or encouragement from my family, I made it happen.

I think know as much about endurance and sustained enthusiasm as almost any man. (but I still have more patience to learn)

I am presently publishing my music composition work from graduate school for the first time after 25 years.

Not many people in life have waited patiently for THAT long to make
    something happen.

I am still waiting patiently. When stuck in a long line of people at the bank, post office, or store, I humorously remark to the people around me that, “This is a good opportunity to practice patience.” Somedays I am more patienct than other days.

“If you can learn patience, you can learn anything.” – from Sidhartha by Herman Hesse

    Thanks,

    Bill

We can surprise ourselves when adversities evolve our lives, often you hear people say, “I don’t know how she coped”, or “how on earth did he survive”. The mind and the body can overcome great stresses and hardships, like soldiers captured in war time, or those fighting cancer. It always amazed me the strength and endurance people have.

I worked with cancer patients and as for war, my parents who were from Poland were taken to be POW in Germany. My brother died as a result of Agent Orange, he served in Vietnam.

Great quotes Shawn, they bring thoughts to life.

Thank, Lee. It’s true…. Your comment makes me think of Victor Frankl’s book “Man’s Search for Meaning”. He too was in the camps in Germany; my wife’s grandmother had the same experience when taken from Poland in WWII. She endured and still endures today. Thanks again.

Number 9 definitely does it for me…9) You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call “failure” is not falling down, but staying down. -Mary Pickford

Believe me, I live and breath that one, I have had many knocks in business and been knocked down heavily on some occasions, but I never stayed down and now at last, it has payed off. Another 2 quotes I have read in the past, can’t remember where from now are…Failure cannot cope with persistence” and “most people are good starters but poor finishers”…Food for thought there I think.

Thanks, Bob. I appreciate your comments. Trying not to stay down myself. 🙂
